BULLHEAD CITY, AZ, May 5, 2023 – The City of Bullhead staff and contractors will work on the following projects throughout the city the week of May 8.
- City officials clean up streets throughout the city as needed. The street maintenance project for 2022-2023 has ended. Information for 2023-2024 will be posted on the City’s website. www.bullheadcity.com/csmp before the start of the fall season.
- Contractors continue to work on new amenities that will be added to the northern end of the community park. The entire project at the northern end of the community park is expected to be completed and open to the public by summer 2023.
- Public works staff will work to transform the Bullhead Bell into a permanent structure in the community park over the next few months. The city plans to open Bullhead Bell as a riverfront concession and event venue sometime in June 2023.
- The contractor will continue construction of the new pickleball courts adjacent to the existing pickleball courts at Rotary Park. Concrete was recently poured for this project and is currently curing. The city plans to open the new pickleball courts to the public in late June.
- Contractors will rehabilitate the 16-2 Wastewater Lift Station on Clubhouse Dr, west of Highway 95. The project requires the installation of panels made of Predl material to protect the well from corrosion. The city expects the He 16-2 lift station renovation project to be completed in late June. Once the 16-2 project is complete, the city will begin work on the same on the 18-2 lift station, and the project he expects to complete in the fall of 2023.
- City officials will continue to work on the sewer expansion project to connect the Marble Canyon Manor Apartments to the city’s sewer system. The city expects the project to be completed by May 12th.
- City crews repair manholes around the city, primarily along the east side of SR-95 in the River District. The restoration project repairs and upgrades 40 manholes in the city that have experienced severe corrosion. New manholes are guaranteed by the manufacturer to last 50 years. The city has rehabilitated 11 manholes since the project began.
Construction will begin on May 22, 2023 at Marina Blvd. Details will be announced at a later date.
The city recommends that only human waste, toilet paper, and gray water be flushed down the drain. All other waste must be disposed of in other ways so as not to damage city infrastructure.
