BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona, May 12, 2023 – The city of Bullhead City responded to a vehicle accident that occurred along SR-95 near the intersection of Rancho Colorado Avenue at approximately 12:33 p.m. Vehicles collided with power infrastructure, causing two utility poles and power lines to collapse onto the highway.

The Bullhead City Police Department is diverting traffic from SR-95 between Silver Creek Road and Laughlin Ranch Boulevard until the road is cleared. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. SR-95 restart date is undecided.

The Mojave Electric Cooperative (MEC) reports that downed utility poles caused power outages for 664 MEC members in the surrounding area. MEC workers are making repairs on site. The restoration time of the power outage is undecided.

Bullhead City Utilities’ wells were affected by a power outage. Water pressure may be low if you are using tap water in this area. Bullhead City Utilities is actively monitoring the situation and working to ensure everyone has access to water service.
