- A teenage girl was shot dead early Sunday morning at a house party in West Phoenix. Police were called to a shooting near 91st Street and Lower Buckeye Road shortly after midnight and found a young girl with gunshot wounds outside her home. Firefighters responded quickly, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is still ongoing and authorities have yet to identify the victim or suspect. (KTAR.com)
- The Arizona Department of Public Safety Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Task Force (CVETF) will conduct annual international road inspections on Interstate 17 and Interstate 40 in northern Arizona today (May 16) through May 18. announced that it will be implemented. - A man identified as Aires Jordan Holmes, 31, was shot dead by a homeowner after he allegedly broke into a home near 18th and Yuma Streets in south Phoenix. The incident occurred when a caller reported the break-in to police and said he shot the suspect. Police found Holmes dead at the scene. The homeowner was briefly detained, but was later released and plans to eventually turn the case over to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review pending further police investigation.
