YCSO informs the community about weed being laced with Fentanyl in Yuma | Yuma

Yuma — The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office wants to inform the public about the new trend of fentanyl in marijuana. A growing number of street drugs are containing low-cost, highly potent fentanyl.

Whether it was marketed with fentanyl on purpose, or whether it was innocently marketed by dealers, is cause for concern. Opioids cannot be seen, tasted or smelled, making it nearly impossible to know if a drug contains fentanyl without proper testing.

The public should be made aware that highs are laced with marijuana to increase the intensity, and parents should discuss the dangers of drug use with their children.

Watch out for the following signs that lead to an overdose:

-I can’t stay awake

– Retracted eyes or pinpoint pupils

– slow or no pulse

– Slow or no breathing, gurgling

– Your skin is pale (gray or blue) and feels cold

Feeling limp and unresponsive to sounds and stimuli

In an emergency, do not hesitate to call 911. To submit a tip, contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or anonymously at 78-CRIME. You can also submit your tips through his website on our company. www.yumacountysheriff.org.
