Joel Lee Smith of Morenci went to rest at home on Thursday, April 13, 2023. he was 45 years old.
Joel was born on April 4, 1978 to Tom Smith and Kathy Smith. Joel found her lifelong love, Danielle, and married her on August 7, 1998. They had four children with him. He loved spending time with his family. His favorite was “Uno” beating us all. Joel was a master machinist in McMorran, Freeport in Morenci where we moved in 2009. He was fun and goofy and loved to laugh. He was always happy to help if anyone needed it. Joel was loved by many people and he will be missed.
Joel died before: his son, Andrew Smith; his parents, Kathy Smith and Tommy Smith; his grandparents, Anita Smith, Eaton Smith, Faye Schartz, and Robert Schartz. and his uncle Mike Sturts.
Joel is left with a wife, Daniel. His children, Jaden Smith, Lillian Smith, Isabel Smith. his sister, Stephanie Wettle (Jace) from Indiana; his mother-in-law, Rhonda Boboril of Nebraska; And many uncles and aunts.
