TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) — Tucson police are investigating a fatal bicycle crash near 29th Street.
The accident occurred at about 2:45 p.m. on May 21 in the 4200 block on East 29th Street.
A cyclist was hit by a white 2010 Chevrolet Colorado and was pronounced dead, according to TPD.
The man has been identified as 54-year-old Paul A. Antonio. His next of kin was notified.
Officers said Antonio was crossing 29th Street from north to south when he collided with a Chevrolet Colorado driving east on the 29th Street curb lane.
The Chevrolet Colorado was going over the 35 mph speed limit.
Antonio was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado was disabled by alcohol and drugs at the time of the accident.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old James Lee Sogue.
Sorg was charged with manslaughter and imprisoned in the Pima County Jail.
Overspeeding and poor driving ability are the main causes of crashes.
The investigation is still ongoing.
