Staying warm & breezy for Memorial Day weekend

Yuma, AZ (KYMA, KECY-TV) – Light to strong winds afternoon to evening
High winds are expected in Imperial County through today.

Winds have picked up further in the southwest corner of Imperial and a wind advisory has been issued, with effects until 5am Saturday morning.

Dry, near-normal temperatures will continue with winds throughout the holiday weekend.

We expect another below-normal cooling trend from early to mid next week.

Water levels along the Gila River have dropped slightly and continued discharge from the Painted Rock Dam continues down the Gila River through Yuma County.

Flood warnings along the Gila River between the Painted Rock Dam and the Colorado River have been extended for an additional seven days, at least until May 30.
