Samso and Coffee: Riedel Resources – Kingman Project – High Grade Gold Mining in Arizona, USA
In this episode of Coffee with Samso 177, Chairman Mike Baum and Riedel Resource (ASX:RIE) CEO David Groombridge share the 2023 edition of Riedel Resource’s story.
The last time we spoke with Riedel Resources was in 2021. I came across the Kingman project in early 2021 when Riedel Resources announced the high-grade nature of the project.
Listen to coffee conversations with Mike Bohm and David Groombridge here.
History of Riedel Resources
Riedel Resources is one of those companies whose geology immediately captivated me on my first evaluation. As I mentioned earlier, when I first saw the first drilling results, I felt this was remarkable.
Riedel crosses multiple luxury gold and silver zones
As an exploration geologist, what do you dislike? The project area (Figure 1) reminds me of the Kalgoorlie gold mines. You’ll hear Mike and David talking about the fact that the Kingman project would have been drilled had it been in Australia.

Now that all the easy plucking of gold mines is gone, it’s important to cherish this word. It doesn’t get any easier to find, but places like the Kingman Project aren’t in the spotlight, it’s more like a time warp event.
The recent announcement to target Kingman’s virgin resources will go a long way toward maturing the project. This, according to Mike and David, will be the first step in identifying an economic description for processing mining solutions.

What’s in the Kingman Project ‘Possibility’ Basket?
The May 2021 release image is probably the best way to see what else is included in the package (Figure 2). Geophysical images show that there appear to be some magnetic highs that have been taken with the understanding that this region is important. There is known porphyry within 6 km of the project.
What we do know about porphyry is that they occur in clusters and are highly variable in calcification. The presence of base metals in Kingman makes us think that he may be lurking in the VMS system (volcanic great sulfide) within the project.
Figure 2: Geophysical anomalies at the Kingman Project compared to samples of raised surface rock chips consistent with historical mining areas and magnetic anomalies.
Looking at Figure 2, one can’t help but think that there are many cooking mechanisms at work in this area. In May 2021, I wrote Samso Insight highlighting the regional perspective of the region. Samso’s insight reveals why I think this whole region has so much potential.
High Grade Mineralization – Riedel Resources Ltd (ASX: RIE ) and New World Resources Ltd (ASX: NWC)
New World Resources Limited (ASX: NWC) has a very high quality VMS project south of Kingman. I think it’s about 100km southeast of Kingman. When I talk to the company about Coffee with Samso, they talk about the same potential in the area.
Reading Samso Insight is important to better understand why people like me believe in this area.
Samso’s conclusion
The most important part of the whole Riedel Resource story is the technical part of the project and the latent nature of Mike Bohm. I’ve covered the technical part of the project above, but I’m sure most readers will understand what I mean.
Why do you say Mike Bohm? He is a proven performer. I met Mike at Ashton Mine in 1993. I have never worked with him, but when I talk to him and observe what he does, I always get the impression that he is a consummate professional and a no-nonsense person. gave me Working with him today, I can see that coming through.
Mike was a mining engineer and a board member of the Argyle Diamond Mine. Argyle was all about mining, so I thought he might be up to the task. The Ashton Mining Limited board probably wanted someone with some knowledge of mining to represent the Argyle Diamond Mine board.
If you look at the companies Mike has worked with, you’ll see that he’s not the kind of person to tell riddles. He’s a man of his word and I’m sure he doesn’t want to tarnish his stature at the ASX level. He has experience working with major mining companies and understands what works and what’s a pipe dream.
So when Mike says that once Kingman’s resources are proven, it can be trucked to a toll processing facility, you’ll be relieved that this is calculated.
In my conversations with companies, I have always said that the two most important factors in your research are technical merit and operational integrity.
