Hundreds of out of service orders issued in Arizona during Roadcheck

on Friday, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced the results of last month’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Road Check Campaign.

Road checks were conducted May 16-18, 2023 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Areas of focus for this year’s inspection activity were anti-lock braking system (ABS) violations and cargo securing violations.

Officers completed a total of 1,060 inspections and found 2,374 violations.

Inspectors found 386 ABS violations and 67 baggage securing violations.

In total, 77 drivers and 176 vehicles were out of service.

Agencies participating in Arizona’s road check inspection efforts include Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Arizona Trucking Association, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Apache Junction, Buckeye, Eloy, Tucson, and Sedona. Includes police station.
