After the qualifying event held on May 23 last year, the 10 contestants for Miss Costa Rica 2023 (Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023) were officially announced.
A jury of former Miss France Veronique de la Cruz, marketing expert Diana Bonnell and singer Rodolfo González will select the finalists and announce them on Thursday on the TV show 7.Estrée. It was officially announced through Jazz.
For the first time in the history of the competition, Teletika Channel 7 will host its own reality show, starting one week before the Grand Finals.
Miss Costa Rica 2023 airs Wednesday, August 16th. Last year’s winner, Maria Fernanda Rodriguez Avila, will pass her new crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event.
The next Miss Costa Rica will represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador later this year.
Introducing the contestants:
Alejandra González – 26 years old, from Palmares (Alajuela), living in Santa Ana. She has a degree in Communications.
Catalina Murillo – 26 years old, Business Administration student, from Concepcion de San Isidro de Heredia.
Daykel Palmer – 19 years old, lives in Alajuela, works at Concetrix while studying architecture and Portuguese.
Fabiola Calvo – 28 years old, lives in Naranjo, Alajuela. She has a degree in Nursing and works at Seema Hospital.
Fariany Gutierrez – 27 years old, from Pinares, Curridabat. She is working towards her Bachelor of Science in Medicine.
Francela Mena – 28 years old, from Lomas de Ayarco. She has a degree in Bilingual Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Business Administration.
Lisbet Valverde – 28 years old, from Uvita, Puntarenas. She holds a degree in Special Education from the National University of Costa Rica.
Natalia Gonzalez – 24 years old, publicist with a degree in communications and marketing.
Natalie Durand – 19 years old, medical student from San Rafael de Heredia.
Yocelin Porras – 27 years old, cosmetologist and gastronomy student from San Isidro de Alajuela.
