I have received endorsement for the incumbent on the Tucson City Council from the esteemed Congressman Grijalva. Less surprisingly, Grijalva was disappointed that incumbent Lane Santa Cruz was unaware of the lack of leadership, interest and engagement that incumbent Lane Santa Cruz showed in her first constituency and hopefully during her final term. Raul Grijalva has built a tremendous reputation within our community as a Pima County Supervisor since his time on the TUSD Board and for the last few years as a Southern Arizona Representative. But Grijalva should leave the issue alone and not reward the incumbent for his support. Especially when it is clear that Miguel Ortega will challenge the Santa Cruz City Council seat, it brings the kind of dedication and passion that Raul Grijalva has shown for decades. I urge voters in Tucson 1st District to back Miguel Ortega and restore true representation and leadership to the South and West.
