state funding

The City of Grove was informed by Rep. David Cook that this year’s state budget, signed by Gov. Hobbs, includes funding for several projects in the city. The funding includes $3.5 million for the Jess Hayes Sidewalk Project, which will build a sidewalk from the new Connies Bridge to the Community Center. This funding is a collaborative effort of the City and County and has been in the works for the past two years. Other funding includes $1.2 million for bridge project upgrades. This funding is in addition to his $2.8 million allocated by ADOT to replace the Cottonwood Bridge. I want to thank Congressman Cook for his continued support of rural Arizona and our city at the state level.

Rural Policy Forum

We are pleased to announce that the Grove and Miami Community Focused Rural Policy Forum will take place August 2-4. On Wednesday, August 2nd, his 4-hour tour of the community will take place with stops at key locations that participants visit.This tour consists of approximately 50 peopleplease. The forum attracts approximately 250-300 participants, consisting of elected officials, economic directors and business owners. His two and a half days of presentations will focus on rural issues in our community. All presentations will be held at the Bullion Plaza Museum. The City of Miami will sponsor his private dinner on Wednesday, August 2nd. The City of Grove will sponsor a private dinner on Thursday night, August 3rd. During the forum’s off-time, participants can visit the entire community.

Community center pool

At the May 23 Board meeting, Resolution 1876 was unanimously approved by the Board to waive the daily user pass fee for the first year of operation to enter the pool. I am very much looking forward to the pool reopening for the first time in 10 years. The first few weeks of operation give staff time to clear up any doubts and ensure smooth operations and safety for the future of the facility. Please be patient and respectful as our staff become more proficient. Here are some pool guidelines to keep in mind:

• Admission is free, but everyone will receive a wristband.

• Pool hours are 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM daily.

• Initially, participants may be limited based on staff availability and activity.

• There may be lines waiting to enter. All the staff are waiting for you.

• Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

• At this time, the Splash Pad is only open during pool hours.

• There are no shops at this time. It will be built at a later date.

• Bottled water is currently the only food allowed on the pool grounds.

The City of Grove has agreed to cover the annual operating and maintenance costs that have hampered previous efforts to build the Aquatic Center. 2023 Strategic Action Plan

The final adoption of the 2023 Strategic Action Plan was approved at the meeting on 23 May. Key topics include community and economic development, infrastructure, quality of life, recreational development, public safety, and financial sustainability. Our latest strategic action plan includes strategies for improving internal and external communications and marketing. Under this plan, the City will continue to seek funding for a number of projects that build on the successes of the past several years. While our focus on economic development will play an important role in the Grove’s future, our Council will continue to create a welcoming atmosphere and make historic downtown Grove a destination that benefits both residents and visitors. citizen academy

At the council meeting on April 25, Citizen Academy participants were awarded certificates and T-shirts for completing the seven-week course. first friday

The first Friday has become a monthly event that continues to grow each month with more participation from downtown businesses, vendors and cruisers. Our economic development team has spent an enormous amount of time planning for this event. This event is attended not only by local residents, but also by many people from outside the city on this day, and the average number of participants is about 9,000. Everyone is welcome to join his downtown cruise starting at the Active Adult Center at 5:30pm. We encourage our community to come downtown to support participating businesses and enjoy live music, food trucks, vendors and even a historic fire engine shuttle ride.
