#1 Mattanawcook Academy Beats #9 Narraguagus 6-4

Thursday afternoon, June 8, No. 1 Mattanaukook Academy Links defeated No. 9 Naragagas Knights 6-4 in the Class C Quarterfinals.

Matana Cook Academy took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Both teams added 2 points in the 5th and 6th innings.

Nate Robertson went all out for the Knights. He allowed 10 hits and 4 runs, 4 of which were earned runs. He had two strikeouts and three walks.

James Trott started on the Lynx mound. He pitched 5.0 innings and gave up 2 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 2 and walked 4. Avery Jordan pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 hits, 1 run, and striking out 1 walk. Isaac Heiner kept a clean sheet in seven innings and struck out one.

Hainer did it at bat, doubled to make it 3–3, struck in one, and scored three times. Cody Smith had two doubles and an RBI. Carson Manson had two singles. Avery Jordan, Griffin House and Lance Wilcox have all singled out the Mattanauk Academy.

The Lynx stole eight bases. Heiner stole four bags, House two, Smith and Wolcox one each.

With the Knights, Logan Stubbs had two singles. Manny Assarome and Austin Geiger each had a single.

Nalaguagas finished the season with a 10-8 record.

The Lynx are currently 14-3. They will face #4 Dexter in the semifinals.
