Staying breezy with below average temps

Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – The current low pressure system in central California is causing dry conditions, below-average temperatures, and moderate winds.

Winds will pick up in Imperial County over the next few nights, with gusts of up to 25 mph possible.

The Imperial County APCD has issued an Air Quality Warning for the Imperial Valley through 9:00 pm Thursday due to high ozone (smog) levels.

Temperatures will be lower than normal, with daytime highs in the 90’s and nighttime lows in the 60’s to low 70’s, which will continue at least until early next week.

A continuous discharge from the Painted Rock Dam continues down the Gila River through Yuma County.

Flood warnings are in effect through at least June 13 along the Gila River between the Painted Rock Dam and the Colorado River.
