George Soros is a bad guy. In fact, he is one of the most evil men currently shaping American and Western politics, and global events more generally.
To speak out in this way is not to promote anti-Semitism or harmful Jewish bullying. It simply undermines the dystopian image of an entire country, one of the world’s most influential political donors, the “philanthropists” and social activists, who spend countless sums of money to change that image. It’s frankly amazing to even have to say this. I am a Jewish columnist, podcaster and speaker. That is why I share my opinions on a daily basis as a fundamental feature of my work. I think some of these opinions are provocative, perhaps very provocative, to a segment of the population, especially those on the left of the centre.
Some (very) few of my critics may hate me or dislike my opinion because I am Jewish, but my critics’ overwhelming I am sure that the majority do not agree with me on the merits of my ideas and contributions to the public debate. Unless I have compelling reason to believe that a particular critic is acting on the basis of class prejudice, I base my assumption on the basic presumption that the critic is not anti-Jewish and simply disagrees with my position. and act accordingly.
Again, this is clear. But for too many people, at least when it comes to criticizing George Soros, it doesn’t seem obvious.

Who can seriously argue that this person cannot be criticized for his influence because he is “anti-Semitic”? Amichai Chikri, the Israeli government’s current Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Minister for Social Equality, certainly disagrees.

Of course, that’s not to say that anti-Semitic criticism of Soros doesn’t exist. Of course, there are evil memes, classic anti-Semitic iconography, and more. And when that anti-Semitism rears its ugly head, whether it’s Soros or any other Jew, Will and I will be the first to denounce it. But the overwhelming majority of criticisms of Soros are perfectly justified based on the dastardly cause he organizes and finances, and in fact they are fair and just.
Patriotic, pro-American, pro-Israel, pro-sovereignty, pro-rule of law Jews all over the world hate this man. George Soros’ ethnic and religious background should not prevent us from calling him “evil.”
