BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona, June 9, 2023 – City of Bullhead employees and contractors will work on the following projects throughout the city during the week of June 12th.
- City officials clean up streets throughout the city as needed.
- McCormick Construction, under contract with the City of Bullhead City, plans to continue rebuilding Marina Street on the nights of Monday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 13. Crews will begin applying a second two-inch lift of asphalt along all lanes between Lakeside and Highway 95. Work will begin each night at 7:00 pm and be completed by 7:00 am. . Intermittent road closures with diversions are expected during the work. The intersection of Lakeside Dr and Marina Blvd will continue to serve as a 4-way stop until the second asphalt lift is completed.
- McCormick Construction will begin rebuilding the Camino del Rio between Lause and Chaparral Avenues at midday on Friday, June 16. Workers mill, grade, and resurface roads. Construction of the Camino del Rio is scheduled to be completed on June 22nd.
- As the new Family Fun Zone nears completion, the contractor will add the finishing touches to an ongoing project at the north end of the community park. We will inform you about the opening date of the park in a future announcement.
- Public works staff will continue to work to transform Bullhead Bell into a riverfront concession stand and gathering place for events. The city plans to open Bullhead Bell sometime in June 2023.
- Construction of new pickleball and tennis courts at Rotary Park, adjacent to the existing courts, is expected to be completed this week. The opening date of the new court will be announced in the future.
- The contractor will rehabilitate the 16-2 wastewater lift station at Clubhouse Doctor on Highway 95 West. The project involves installing panels made of Predl material to protect the well from corrosion. The city plans to complete his 16-2 lift station renovation project in late June. Once the 16-2 project is complete, the city will begin similar work on his 18-2 lift station, which he expects to complete in the fall of 2023.
- City workers will repair manholes throughout the city, primarily along the east side of SR-95 in the River District. The restoration project repairs and upgrades 40 heavily corroded manholes throughout the city. New manholes are guaranteed by the manufacturer to last for 50 years. The city has repaired 11 manholes since the project started.
- A contractor working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will continue the project to extend the water main from Lewis Doctor behind Big Lot to Black Mountain Road. Work began on Tuesday, May 30th and is expected to be completed by the end of June. Workers will cut open along the southeast corner of Lewis Drive and install a new water main.
The city is advising the public to only flush human waste, toilet paper and gray water down the drain. All other waste must be disposed of in other ways to avoid damage to city infrastructure.
Be careful while passing through city work zones. Obey posted signs and traffic control devices.
