Republicans argued Tuesday on the floor of the House that more than 29 million Americans have committed felonies because of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) ban on pistol gear.

“On the midnight of May 31, 29 million Americans instantly became felons thanks to Biden’s ATF weaponization,” Moore said.

Moore had spoken out in favor of a House resolution that overturned the rule. The Hill report.
President Joe Biden is threatened to veto resolution.
“Despite the fact that Congressional Republicans should take additional action to keep these and other dangerous weapons off the streets, they instead want this rule and the existing legal requirements for these dangerous weapons. According to the regulations, pistols with stabilizing braces were reclassified as short-barreled rifles, and brace owners were required to register with the government. The Hill.

Moore accused the rule of “weaponizing the ATF” that could cost legal gun owners “10 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.” He ended his speech by calling on the House of Representatives to pass HJ Resolution 44, which blocks the ATF’s new rules and voids liability for violators.
