SAFORD — Pamela Bigler is asking the public to help make US Highway 70 safer.
Bigler and his family will host a Highway Justice event at Firth Park in Safford on Saturday 17th June from 10am to 2pm.
“This is to raise awareness in the community and to call people to deliver petitions to local and state representatives,” Bigler said. “We’re changing Highway 70 from here to Grove. My ultimate goal is a disconnected highway.”
She also said she wants more law enforcement on the roads, better safety drawers and curbsides, and more checkpoints for drunk driving.
Bigler and his parents, David Krontz, were killed in April last year when two vehicles on Highway 70 collided at Milepost 274 in the San Carlos Apache Reservation. Sharon Krontz has lost her adult son, David Ostberg. The driver of the other vehicle also died in the accident.
The incident is being investigated by the San Carlos Apache Police Department, but the findings of the accident have not yet been made public.
