Saturday, May 27th, Verde Valley Military Park The annual Memorial Day ceremony and flag exchange is held at Garrison Park in Cottonwood. Event starts at 1pm. Water is provided, but please bring your own chair. The total duration of the event is approximately 30-45 minutes.
Saturday, May 27, American Legion Donald C. Thompson Post and Auxiliary 135 will hold their 12th annual Veterans Memorial Service at 11:00 am at their future home at 11350 Cornville East Road, Cornville. This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. The keynote speaker is Dr. Ronald Wright. As this is an outdoor event and temperatures are expected to be high, participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas. Cold water will be provided and snacks provided according to the program.
Saturday, May 27th, Camp Verde Heritage Pool Open at 290 Apache Trail during the season and open every day until school starts.
Monday, May 29, 11:00 am, Foreign War Veterans Burt Black Jr. Post 7400 will hold a memorial service at Cottonwood Cemetery on North Main Street. Water, shade and some seating are provided. The duration of the event is approximately 30-45 minutes. There will be a rifle salute and TAPS for our fallen comrades and sisters.
Monday, May 29, Cottonwood City While the government offices and library will be closed for Memorial Day, Cottonwood Recreation Center will remain open and operate according to the schedule below.

Monday, May 29, throughout Prescott National Forest The Coconino National Forest Office and Ranger Station will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of Remembrance Day, a tribute to all men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. There are currently no fire regulations in Prescott National Forest, but visitors are cautioned that the use of fireworks and explosives is prohibited on federal land. Law enforcement officers, firefighters and recreational staff will patrol the Memorial Day weekend to ensure the safety of visitors. Coconino National Forest is waiving recreation pass fees at the Red Rock Pass site May 27-29. Camping and campfires are restricted in the Red Rock Ranger District.
Monday, May 29, Yavapai County Board of Supervisors A Memorial Day service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Historic Civil Cemetery at 415 Sheldon Street in Prescott. Presenters at the ceremony included host Senator Ken Bennett, Yavapai County Oversight Board Chairman James Gregory, Vice Chairman Harry Oberg and Prescott Police Chief Amy Bonney. Period clothing is welcome. Yavapai College has parking and shuttle his van will pick you up near the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center.
