Shout out to Virginia!
It’s almost the end of June and it’s crazy to think that Independence Day is right around the corner. Just yesterday I felt like I was packing up for Christmas and getting ready for the New Year. Now we are preparing to celebrate America’s 247th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, personal finance website WalletHub announced thatAmerica’s Most Patriotic States in 2023.To get this data, WalletHub compared all 50 states using 13 key indicators of patriotism. Metrics range from state military enlistments and veterans to the percentage of AmeriCorps volunteers per adult population who voted in the 2020 presidential election.
According to WalletHub’s survey, the most patriotic states in America are:
- Virginia
- Montana
- Alaska
- north dakota
- maine
- Vermont
- Oregon
- Colorado
- Wyoming
- new hampshire
- Hawaii
- Maryland
- Washington
- Iowa
- Delaware
- south dakota
- Utah
- Idaho
- Kansas

As many of you already know, I’m from Virginia, so I couldn’t help but be a little proud here.
As a modern Floridian I’m a little curious, where exactly is the Sunshine State?
I’m surprised Florida isn’t on the list. Because if you drive across Florida like I do, you’ll always see the American flag on people’s homes. If you go to Miami’s South Beach, you’ll actually see Trump goods being sold at the store. And regardless of how you feel about Trump, the fact that it’s politically relevant shows that the 305 also has a certain amount of patriotic pride. But anyway, thanks to my home state of Virginia.
