Suspect in Arizona double-homicide who was shot remains hospitalized in Las Vegas

A California man was taken into custody after being shot dead by a neighbor after he stabbed two people to death recently at a home in Bullhead City on the Arizona-Nevada line, but was hospitalized again on Sunday, police said.

Police said Sunday they were continuing to investigate Friday’s murder as a double homicide in a community in Arizona on the Colorado River across from Laughlin, Nevada. They identified the suspect as Aaron Michael Bryant, 31, of Eureka, California, and said he remained hospitalized in Las Vegas on Sunday.

“He is still being treated at a Las Vegas hospital,” Bullhead Police Department spokesman Emily Frommert said in an email to The Associated Press.

The victims, a man and a woman who tried to call police, were identified as two Bullhead City residents, Tommy Edward Hinton, 62, and Annette Lee Hinton, 59. .

Police were called to the residence at about 5:45 p.m. Friday “in connection with a 911 call in which a woman was screaming for help.”

“We have received additional calls of a man stabbing a woman,” police said in a statement.

“During the course of the investigation, it was determined that there was an altercation and that Bryant was shot dead by a neighbor after stabbing the victims,” ​​police said in a statement.

No neighbors have been identified. No formal charges had been filed until late Sunday.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the victims were related or if there was a lawyer available to comment on Bryant’s behalf.
