(newsnet) — A man has died after falling from a height of 4,000 feet on a trail at a popular Grand Canyon attraction.

The Mojave County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as a 33-year-old man who went over the edge of the Grand Canyon West Skywalk observatory.

Authorities did not disclose how the man crossed the line, but the search and rescue team posted a note to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline if anyone needed help.

The Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge that extends 70 feet from the canyon walls, offering 4,000-foot views of the Colorado River.

The man’s body was recovered.
