SIERRA VISTA, Arizona — Wildfires in southern Arizona forced evacuations and threatened buildings Thursday afternoon.
A fire is raging in Hereford, a town southeast of the Sierra Vista. The fire burned about 30 acres near Ramsey Canyon and is still burning, officials said.
The breakdown of the current evacuation situation is as follows.
- South of Three Canyons, east of Hwy 92 towards Deer Ridge, Wildhorse Area, Andalusian Way Area
There are also important closures to watch out for.
- Highway 92 closed from Ramsay Canyon Road to Palominas Road
- Full road closure on Hereford Road
- SR 92 is closed in both directions south of Sierra Vista
