Thieves Allegedly Break Through Roof Of Local Store And Steal Over $700,000 Worth Of Alcohol

A group of thieves broke through the roof of a California wine store on Saturday and allegedly stole $700,000 worth of alcohol.

The video shows one of the suspects getting out of the truck and climbing onto what appears to be a metal shipping container with a knife and sharp tools. KTLA said the culprit used a sharp tool to pierce the ceiling of the store’s cellar, where the rarest and most expensive wines were kept.

The thief then used a rock-climbing rope to descend into the basement and covered all the security cameras with socks, the paper reported.

“They cleaned it up,” said owner Nazmul Haq Helal, according to KTLA. “They have taken everything, so there is nothing left on the Burgundy and Bordeaux side.”

According to media reports, the perpetrators stole wine from France and Italy worth between $700,000 and $800,000.
