Bud Light released a new commercial featuring NFL superstar Travis Kelsey on Sunday amid declining sales, and critics aren’t holding back.
of commercialEntitled “Backyard Grants With Travis Kelsey,” the song shows the Kansas City Chiefs tight end sitting in a lawn chair, groaning with relief. The scene that follows cuts to other men moaning as they sit, apparently relaxed, as they crack open Bud Light.
The short ad appears to be Bud Light’s latest attempt to mend barriers with culturally conservative consumers amid ongoing boycotts of the brand. In April, Bud Light sent transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney a personalized can. The decision to partner with Mulvaney immediately sparked a conservative boycott, and the brand’s sales plummeted.
