If you’re looking for new ways to serve your community, consider volunteering on one of several committees throughout Mojave County.
County supervisor Ron Gould said the county is looking for volunteers to serve on committees such as the Library District Citizen Advisory Committee and the Merit Committee.
Volunteers must live in County Supervisor District 5 north of Kiowa Boulevard, which includes Lake Havasu City, Desert Hills, Crystal Beach, Havasu Heights, Yucca, Topok, Golden Shores, Mojave Valley, and Fort Mojave.
The Library Advisory Board meets quarterly and rotates among County Libraries. The group’s mission is to ensure that the county’s library districts provide resources that are relevant, accessible, and of interest to local citizens.
The Merit Committee meets as needed, generally once or twice a year, in Kingman’s Supervisory Board Auditorium. This group is responsible for representing the public interest in improving personnel management within the county and serves as the county’s independent personnel commission. According to Gould, state law requires volunteers to be non-Republican registered voters.
If these opportunities sound interesting to you, please call Gould’s office at 928-453-0735.
If you are in District 3, represented by Buster Johnson, which includes the rest of Lake Havasu City, please call his office at 928-453-0724 to check for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
