Tommy Dunkel and his All-Star Pit Crew will return to Jim Naylor’s Ventura Raceway this Saturday night for another activity with the Ventura Racing Association. For Dunkel, it will be his fourth race of the year at his County Ventura 1/5 mile oval on his fairgrounds beach.
Mr. Dunkel of Menifee, Calif., carried the white Inland Rigging #17A to Ventura for the first time in 2023 on April 8th.th. He stunned everyone by dominating the action leading each lap in both heats and the main event.He returned home on May 13thth With the USAC/West Coast Sprint Car series.In that time he won 13 qualificationsth Fastest and again led his heat race wire to the wire. He started 7th in the main and was running 9th, but on the first lap after a yellow at the end of the race he was picked up by a ‘monster truck’ from behind. He had to restart from the back, but he made it to the eleventh.th before time runs out.
His last time in Ventura was at the USAC West Coast Series event on June 24th.he started main 21cent And by the halfway point of the race he had charged up to 11 seconds.th.he was ready to score tenth He got tangled with another car in Turn 1 when the yellow flags came out. He returned the car to the work area and a crew jumped on top of it and ejected him before the race resumed. Restart in 2021centmoved up two places before the end of the race.
For the final race at Ventura, Dunkel’s crew consisted of current USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series points leader Brody Lore, Lore’s crew chief Zach Bozanich, and the rest of the #17R backers. rice field. Spectator gates open at 3pm and the first race takes place at 5:30pm on Saturday in Ventura. Adult tickets are $18.00. Seniors over the age of 60, military personnel, and students with ID can enter for $15.00. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
