Bobcat car crash on Friday afternoon in Gila Bend

Arizona — A bobcat lost one of its nine lives in a car accident Friday afternoon.

A driver on his way to work in Gilabend found a live bobcat under the hood of his car, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the man parked his car and heard strange sounds before spotting the wildlife.

“He looked under the hood and saw two eyeballs looking at him.” The company announced on Facebook.

It turned out that the driver had unwittingly hit a bobcat on his way to work about 110 miles south of Phoenix.

District 2 Law Enforcement Officers serving the Gilabend, Tonopah, Southwest Region of the Phoenix metropolitan area and other communities have arrived to the rescue.

Officials from the Arizona Game and Fish Service also showed up to save the bobcat from the hairy situation.

Officials said the team worked together to tranquilize the bobcat and remove it from the engine compartment.

It was not injured and was released into the wild.

Officials said, “Second District is still the wild west!”
