‘It Wasn’t A Particularly Great Experience’: Reese Witherspoon Candidly Discusses Sex Scene In ‘Fear’

Reese Witherspoon has spoken candidly about what it was like to step into the sex scene at the age of 19, opposite Mark Wahlberg in Fear.

She was asked what it was like to shoot the infamous roller coaster scene in the 1996 psychosexual thriller. There, her character was observed performing an orgasm. It was a rare moment in cinema at the time.

“I couldn’t control it,” Witherspoon said in a recent interview. Harper’s Bazaar.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, she was detached and said she hired a stuntman for the scenes where she was nude from the waist down.

“The script didn’t make it clear that this was going to happen, so I think it was the director’s own idea, and he asked me on set if I would do it, and I said no,” Wither said. Spoon said.

She said she felt it wasn’t something she could be a part of and was still young at the time.

“It wasn’t a great experience,” Witherspoon told Harper’s Bazaar.

She said this was one of many situations in her career that ultimately shaped her, creating opportunities for growth both as an actress and on a personal level.

“It helped me understand where I stand in the filmmaking hierarchy.”

Witherspoon also talked about the big picture and how the situation could be used as an opportunity for improvement.

“I think this is another story that made me want to be an agent for change, someone who could be a better leader, telling stories from a woman’s point of view instead of a man’s.” she told Harper’s Bazaar.
