A man’s decomposing body was reportedly found in his Queens apartment on Tuesday night, police said.
A police officer from the 101st precinct responded to the 119th call regarding the foul odor. according to QNS. They arrived at the scene, the ground floor of the Scott A. Gadel Place building, around 9:23 pm and found the man in a bathtub. Paramedics reportedly confirmed the man’s death at the scene.
Police don’t know at this time how long the body has been there, The New York Post reported. report.

Police said the victim had a sheet wrapped around his head and that “blood droplets” had flowed into the toilet. new york daily news.
The New York Post reports that the investigation is still ongoing and the coroner’s office will soon issue a report on the man’s cause of death.
This is not the first time a decomposing body has been found in New York City.
In December 2022, the body of what appeared to be an elderly gentleman was found on a popular boardwalk in the Bronx, New York City. There were also no signs of trauma.
Similarly, the decomposing corpse of a 75-year-old man was found in a Brooklyn home, reportedly containing “blueprints for weapons of mass destruction and suspected biohazard materials.”
A male neighbor smelled a “strong odor emanating from the house,” and police conducted a medical examination.
