A North Carolina mother and son won the lottery weeks apart, according to WITN.
Randy Williams, of Greenville, North Carolina, discovered on June 15 that he had won a jackpot of $518,774. Williams was reportedly playing the Cash 5 lottery the night before. Exit. Her mother, Peggy Williams, also accompanied her and submitted a ticket. Randy Williams raised $369,627 net of federal and state tax withholdings. His mother then won $500,000 on a scratch-off ticket to Double Diamond Cashward a week later, the paper reported. Peggy Williams made a profit of $356,253, net of federal and state tax withholdings.

“We feel blessed,” said Randy Williams.
Peggy Williams said she couldn’t believe she and her son won the impossible lottery.
“Unbelievable,” said Peggy Williams, according to WITN. “I reviewed it about 10 times to make sure there were no mistakes.”
The pair reportedly changed plans after a string of unexpected lottery wins. Originally, Randy Williams planned to use the winnings to renovate her mother’s house. His mother won the lottery, so the two decided to buy a new house instead.
