A tractor-trailer veered off the road on Interstate 95 northbound in Newburgh this morning, causing a traffic jam.

A mechanical failure caused the rig to veer off the road and partially block the left lane, Maine police said. Authorities said the trailer-trailer first hit the right guardrail and then veered into the median. The incident occurred at mile marker 173 in Newburgh. The driver was not injured, and crew members are working to remove the truck.
