On Sunday, a White House press secretary made it clear that she and her fellow Democrats want an America very different from the rest of our nation.
During her appearance on MSNBC, Carine Jean-Pierre was asked by a host about how the White House would deal with the Supreme Court’s upcoming debate on affirmative action. Banned That’s what American universities do.
she answered Now it looks like this: [decision] mistaken. ‘ This is unprecedented and strips away important long-held constitutional rights. ” (Related: Brian Dean Wright: Former CIA officer breaks chaos in Russia)
But unfortunately for the White House, they are the ones who are wrong. Indeed, a new poll reveals that.
The Weekend, The Economist/YouGov liberated A poll found that 59% of adult Americans support the Supreme Court’s decision to ban affirmative action in college admissions. Only 27% disapproved.
Even more surprising to people like Jean-Pierre, blacks and Hispanic Americans also largely support the Supreme Court ruling. In fact, blacks supported it by a margin of 46% to 36%. In addition, only 11% of black Americans said they were positively impacted by affirmative action policies.
Moreover, Hispanic Americans felt much the same way. Only 7% said they were positively impacted by these race-based policies.
In other words, only the most radical members of American society support affirmative action. And now we have data to back it up.
But like any radical political movement, the American left will not abandon its support for affirmative action and color quotas. It is too important to them, too central to their political ideology.
In fact, as a former Democrat, I know it to be true. I’ve heard this term often among friends and colleagues, such as the Capitol. I recall they were giving examples of how to build a race-based society. They frequently mentioned the country of South Africa.
For those who don’t know, the left-wing party in charge of the country, the African National Congress, has introduced affirmative action and racial quotas across the country as a remedy for years of racist rule by apartheid. Did.
But what Democrats rarely mention is how badly the South African experiment turned out.
Consider this: About three weeks ago, the South African government issued Proposed regulations on the amount of water that companies can use. And it all depends on the skin color.
For example, if a rancher, farmer, or miner needs 250,000 cubic meters of water, your company must be at least 25% black-owned.
If you need more water, say 500,000 cubic meters of water, you need 75% of your business owned by black South Africans.
But of course it causes nasty problems like decide No matter how black it is, is it black enough for water to enter? In South Africa it is really very difficult.they have over 5 million mixed race citizen This country of 65 million people is left in a state of chronic anxiety and frustration about being either too white or too black in the eyes of the government and some of its citizens. (Related: Alan Dershowitz: Supreme Court Brings Us One Step Closer to Color Blind Society)
But it is the logical consequence of leftist racial policies and politicians. Whether in South Africa or America, the left can only be considered black or white. And whatever their motives, their reign leaves nothing but racial pain and wreckage.
And that’s why I think at the center of this recent poll by The Economist/YouGov, so many Americans of all skin colors reject Jean-Pierre and the Democrats’ vision for this country. . We do not want to promote separation. We don’t want to end up rationing water based on skin color.
We want a crucible. We want a country filled with imperfect Americans marching together in search of a more perfect union, regardless of skin color.
