A fugitive who staggered out of a Pennsylvania prison on July 6 using a bedsheet rope was reportedly caught in the woods on Saturday evening with the help of a dog.
Pennsylvania State Police Lieutenant Colonel George Vivens said Michael Charles Barham was apprehended at 5:50 p.m. bottom. Press conference. Barham, 34, the murder and arson suspect, reportedly climbed onto exercise equipment (skipped through windows) and climbed down a rope made of prison bedding to warren in the middle of the night on July 6. Vivens said the owner and his wife noticed the dog barking and went to the back of the property and found Barram, who said he was camping. Residents then called authorities around 3:57 p.m. and Barham fled into the woods. Barham was then found outside “dirty, wet and battered,” Bivens added. Mr. Barham tried to hide from the police who spotted him, but he was approached from behind by other officers who approached him and was taken into custody at gunpoint, Bivens added.

Vivens said officers searched the area even though Barham, who was wearing prisoner’s trousers inside out, was unarmed. Bivens added that officers had previously retrieved bags containing “ammunition of various calibers”. New York State Police, Customs and Border Patrol, and K-9 also participated in the search.
Mr. Barham will be arraigned on a fugitive charge later on Friday and will no longer be detained at the Warren County Jail, Vivens said. State police are investigating any assistance Barham may have received.
