Senator Tommy Tuberville reappears and valiantly carries out his duties. In Washington, D.C. these days, you’re right when you find yourself criticized by career politicians from both parties for taking a principled stance on issues that interfere with normal business in Washington. You can be sure that you are doing
This time, a senior Alabama senator has the courage to denounce the Pentagon and its illegal policy of paying personnel to travel out of state for abortions. Senator Tuberville stepped up further, suspending all Department of Defense promotions until key issues were resolved through the normal legislative process. Why is America under the leadership of Joe Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer so far when former Auburn football coach Tuberville is attacked from all sides for simply demanding order? I’m starting to understand if it’s gone off track. A recent Reuters poll found that a whopping 72% of those surveyed believe the country is headed in the wrong direction as a country, compared to 13 who believe the country is on the right track. %.
The policies unilaterally introduced by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin (an Auburn alumnus) are the latest example of the Biden administration succumbing to the Radical Left at every turn and abusing power in the process. Senator Tuberville has argued that if President Biden and Secretary Austin want the policy to continue, Congress needs to enact the policy. As was the case with Biden’s illegal student loan program, which was recently stopped by the U.S. Supreme Court, the executive branch does not enact legislation. According to the US Constitution, that power rests with the legislative branch. We’re talking Politics 101 here. And sadly, dozens of Washington leaders have had access to refresher courses.
Such common-sense demands have been known to throw tantrums in the DC Unionist Party, and Senator Tuberville’s courageous demeanor is no exception. Mr. Tuberville deserves credit for standing up for life and asking inconvenient questions in the US Senate, a forum once known for heated debate. He’s asking such fundamental questions as why the Department of Defense got into the abortion business in the first place. No serious person can argue that this is not a valid issue. The Pentagon should be obsessed with keeping our country safe, not obsessed with enforcing the policies of the awakened left-wing mob. That laughter you hear is from a communist China that remains focused on becoming the world’s next superpower.
The position of Senator Schumer and his swamp operatives, predictably, is pathetic. Senator Tuberville’s nominations and promotions could be moved if the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate were serious about making real efforts for change. For example, the chairman of the Democratic Armed Services Committee recently said it was important to clear the blocked 260 nominations. It takes 27 days if the Senate works “24 hours” to go through the normal process, and 84 days if the Senate works 8 hours a day.You know, in Joe Biden’s crumbling Washington, working eight hours a day is a terrible idea. That’s the tone-deaf behavior that disgusts hardworking taxpayers, and why 80 percent of Americans support term limits for Congress. Just as politicians in the establishment threatened that the world would be doomed by a government shutdown if the latest multi-trillion dollar omnibus spending bill were not passed, the same voices are now calling for Tuberville. They argue that the Senator’s actions undermine us on the world stage. . It should not be different from the truth. In fact, our beloved constitutional republic will become even stronger once Washington regains some degree of sanity and order. So if the awakened moguls Biden and Austin want the abortion policy to continue in line with Pentagon demands, it needs to be legislated. Until then, the Senate will have to debate the merits of each candidate and vote one by one. Thank you Coach Tuberville for your inspirational leadership and work.
