‘Affordable’ doesn’t mean ‘inferior’ or ‘mediocre,'” notes FamilyDestinationsGuide.com’s Rose Ackerman. “The budget-friendly travel destinations offer a wealth of options, offering everything from breathtaking outdoor experiences to cultural experiences, charming local accommodations and gourmet food without breaking the bank.

FamilyDestinationsGuide used an online panel survey of 3,000 adults based on age, gender, and geography to confirm the presence of diverse demographics.

Neighboring New York State was named the top two destinations, followed by Coney Island in second place and Long Beach in first place. Good for New York, but what about those looking for a staycation?

Five of the top 175 family-friendly destinations are right here in the Garden State, so you don’t even have to travel out of state for a cost-effective vacation.

These are New Jersey’s most affordable family vacation destinations for the summer of 2023.

7️⃣5️⃣ Wildwood

The iconic Wildwood Boardwalk stretches for two miles and is lined with affordable amusement parks, arcades and shops, offering endless entertainment options for families on a budget.

Just be careful, “Watch out for the tram cars.”

6️⃣1️⃣ Cape May

After sunbathing on the beach and surfing the waves, take the family to check out the free admission to Cape May County Park & ​​Zoo.

The town’s historic district offers affordable restaurants and shops, as well as the Cape May Lighthouse, which offers great views for a modest entrance fee.

In addition to beautiful beaches, families can enjoy outdoor activities such as beach fishing and walking on boardwalks for all ages, including mini golf courses and amusement parks.

The Jenkinson Aquarium is a popular spot for families and offers a memorable opportunity to see a wide variety of marine life up close.
