Shannon: Partnership with Maricopa Ambulance will maintain high level of patient care

The City of Scottsdale and its fire department on December 5 further strengthened their public safety priority by signing an ambulance transportation contract with Maricopa Ambulance. Maricopa Ambulance represents companies that share the Fire Department’s vision of the highest quality out-of-hospital emergency care.

It is the fire department’s responsibility to provide the public with the most effective and efficient emergency medical care and services. Our partnership with Maricopa Ambulance maintains this service. how? By ensuring continuity of life-saving care. As direct patient care providers, the Scottsdale Fire Department has highly skilled and experienced paramedics and paramedics on each call. Each station’s fire and ladder trucks are staffed by her two paramedics who are trained to provide advanced life support. These units are also staffed by trained paramedics who provide basic life support. This combination of medical professionals is equipped and trained to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care. Fire stations throughout our area are staffed the same. When someone calls 911 anywhere in the Valley, her fire-based EMS system dispatches the nearest fire engine, regardless of city boundaries. This automated assistance system reduces response time, a key factor in many health emergencies. In most cases, the fire department will be the first to arrive at the scene of the incident, dispatching a team of emergency medical specialists when and where they are needed. Members of these teams accompany patients from the time of accident through the critical transition to hospital caregiver. Many municipalities that have automated ambulance systems contract private ambulance companies to provide emergency transport. These transports are manned by paramedics or paramedics and typically arrive after the fire department has arrived on the scene. In Scottsdale, a city firefighter paramedic accompanies each patient during transport from the scene of the incident to the hospital. This standard ensures continuity of care and seamless transfer of patients to hospital staff.
