REPORT: Golfer Slammed With Felony Charge After Pushing Man Off Bridge At Golf Course

The arraignment of a Lake Tahoe man who allegedly pushed his golf buddy off a bridge after an argument is scheduled for August 28.

King Ricky McCarthy, 72, has reportedly been charged with a felony for causing serious bodily harm to a person over the age of 60. Tahoe Daily Tribune.

McCarthy has reportedly waived a preliminary hearing in East Fork Court.

McCarthy and the victim, 74, were playing golf at Carson Valley Golf Course on the afternoon of April 6, according to court documents through the Tahoe Daily Tribune.

Witnesses said the man yelled at McCarthy that he was on an emergency break. After that, the two met on the bridge over the irrigation canal. Witnesses said McCarthy allegedly pushed the man off a bridge after shouting adjectives.

When police arrived, the man had fallen five feet to the bottom of a dry ditch and was lying face down. He claimed to have no feeling in his back, hands, or feet. (Related: 2 women mutilate after someone gave child a runny nose during ‘Barbie’ movie)

McCarthy reportedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.134 at the time of the shooting.

He was arrested on the spot.
