ARIZONA (KPEL News) – If you were to ask which border state has the most fentanyl smuggled in, you would probably think Texas.
Louisiana is the state that shares the longest border with Mexico, so being a western border state would be a great guess – 1,241 miles according to worldatlas.com – Of the four states located on the southern border: Arizona, California, and New Mexico. In total, the four states share her 1,954 miles with Mexico.
But that guess would be wrong. Texas has just scratched the surface of drug seizures.

Fentanyl is making headlines every day as this deadly drug claims lives and ruins families across the country. With people in possession of fentanyl being arrested, and with smuggling gangs dismantled in Louisiana and across the country, lawmakers can’t even unite to slow the influx of fentanyl into our country.

What really scares me is Cochise County Sheriff Mark Daniels points out about the fight against fentanyl:
As for what happens through the Tucson area we’re in, we’re just touching it. I can promise that we are just in touch. That means it’s passing through us, no doubt. I mean, everyone wears a badge and talks about it. Our resources are limited, so it’s going through us.
Parents Should Know About These Illegal Drugs
Knowledge is power. This is especially true when it comes to recognizing and understanding when a child is involved with illegal drugs.
