A Daily Caller News Foundation reporter explained Tuesday how the Biden administration is fast-tracking Chinese illegal immigrants to the United States.
The screening process for illegal immigrants from China was significantly reduced from about 40 questions to five in April 2023, according to an email obtained by DCNF. According to a former law enforcement official who provided emails to the DCNF, the human smuggling operation began teaching undocumented Chinese immigrants how to answer simple questions.
“At the heart of this email is a number of changes to the way Border Patrol agents vet Chinese illegal immigrants,” DCNF investigative reporter Philip Lencchi told “Bannon War Room” host Natalie Winters. Told. “They fall into two categories. The first, which is mentioned in the email we linked and which we tweeted, is that agents no longer need to perform so-called phone downloads; In case of encountering illegal activity, they connect their cell phones to the machine and cross-reference the data with databases containing known terrorist organizations and hostile entities.Second, they conduct what is called an in-depth interview. It took an existing list of about 40 questions and reduced it to five “basic questions” to ask illegal Chinese immigrants it encounters. ”
according to According to data released by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), 2,045,838 illegal immigrants were encountered in fiscal year 2023, following 2,206,436 in fiscal year 2022 and 1,659,206 in fiscal year 2021. “What we found, according to the person who shared the email on condition of anonymity for fear of U.S. government retaliation, is that in his opinion and in the opinion of experts, questions remain. “In effect, this has accelerated the rate at which authorities can process illegal Chinese immigrants and admit them into the United States,” Lenczicki added. “The bar for entry has been lowered for them.”
The email stated that illegal immigrants who passed five questions would be released into the United States with a “notice to appear” and a “recognition order.”
“Why would the Biden administration do this?” Winters asked.
“We don't know exactly why, but the theory is that the number of Chinese illegal immigrants, and of course the overall number of illegal immigrants, is increasing exponentially,” Lenczicki said. The decision was made to reduce the list to claim that illegal immigrants were being “vetted” because many border officials did not speak Chinese and there were not many linguists available.
CBP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from DCNF.
