Brasfield & Gorrie investing $18.9 million in Birmingham HQ expansion


Brasfield & Gorey, one of the nation's largest privately held construction companies, announced that it plans to invest $18.9 million in a project to expand its national headquarters in Birmingham.

The expansion will add a 28,500-square-foot, three-story building to the Lakeview District campus, creating 85 jobs in the process, the company said.

“Birmingham has been our home since the beginning, and we feel strongly about investing in the community that has supported us over the years,” said CEO Jim Gourley.

“City, county and state support has been key to our steady growth. As we continue to grow and hire across our business areas, we are committed to investing in our employees and the place we call home. It is important.”

Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair praised the company for its role in Birmingham's past, present and future.

Construction of the expansion will begin soon, with an estimated completion date of summer 2025.
