Saraland City Schools Superintendent Dr. Aaron Milner has been named president of Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette.

The Alabama Community College System Board of Governors approved the appointment at Wednesday's meeting. Milner will start on February 1st.

“Aaron has nearly 30 years of experience in education, and we know his expertise will continue to move our region forward as he brings a fresh perspective on the changes that need to occur to help more students pursue success.” I am confident that it will be of great help to the public,” said Jimmy H. Milner said she is excited and eager to begin her new role on campus.

“Coastal Alabama Community College has a rich history of student success, and we are proud of our dedication to serving the students in our communities who rely on us to provide excellent education and workforce development programs. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such a talented staff,” said Milner.

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Milner earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. He received his master's degree from Troy State University and his doctorate in education from Auburn University.

Milner began her career as a middle school teacher in Eufaula City Schools. Within six years, he became assistant principal at Enterprise High School. He then served as superintendent of Enterprise City Schools from 2010 until 2013, when he finally transferred to Saraland City Schools.

He served as an adjunct professor in the master's and doctoral programs in educational leadership at the University of South Alabama and as an adjunct professor in several courses in educational leadership at Troy University.
