Seligman, Arizona (3TV/CBS 5) — As winter weather arrived in northern Arizona Thursday morning, two sections of Interstate 40 were partially closed after numerous crashes and slides were reported.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation announced that a crash had closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 at milepost 317 near Pinta Road. It's west of Chambers. As of 12:45 p.m., both eastbound lanes have reopened.
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 were also closed due to the same crash at milepost 130 near Seligman, nearly 320 miles to the west. A semi-truck slid off the highway, trapping a person inside, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. It is unclear whether anyone was seriously injured.Both lanes reopened shortly before 2 p.m.

DPS says snow and ice are causing numerous slides. ADOT listed snow and ice conditions on several highways across Arizona's high elevation areas, including State Route 89 near Sedona, and portions of SR-87 and US 89.
