$10 million redevelopment plan for Cottonwood Cove resort unveiled on Lake Mohave

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Plans for a $10 million redevelopment of Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina were announced Wednesday, as the concessionaire announced a new 25-year lease for the site.

Lake Mead Mojave Adventures (LMMA), which operates Cottonwood Cove and six other marinas and campgrounds within Lake Mead National Recreation Area, is adding amenities ranging from restaurant renovations to the addition of covered boat slips. He said it was part of an ambitious plan.

“As one of Southern Nevada's best-kept secrets, we are excited to launch a new, elevated experience at Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina with this long-term redevelopment plan,” said Lake Mead Marketing and Guest Experience. said Director Chad Taylor. Mojave Adventures said in a news release. “This transformation is a testament to our passion for providing a best-in-class experience for our guests and the best employment opportunities for our dedicated team members.”

Cottonwood Cove is located on the Nevada side of Lake Mojave, approximately 110 miles southeast of Las Vegas via US 95 and approximately 21 miles east of Searchlight in a straight line.

Plans for the marina include adding 46 covered slips in addition to covering the 74 existing slips. A 400-foot “free dock” will also be installed along the south edge of the North Beach swimming area, where boats will be moored.

Other plans include:

  • Completely renovated 24-room motel
  • The redesigned cafe will be transformed into the only pub on the lake where guests can enjoy pub-style food and a full bar.

  • The redesigned store features a covered outdoor patio for al fresco dining.
  • Electric car charging station. Cottonwood Cove plans to upgrade its fleet to electric golf carts, utility vehicles, ATVs and electric tricycles.
  • Improve RV parks and provide more space. “Additionally, Dark Sky Project compliant energy efficient lighting will be installed and water efficient fixtures will be added,” the news release states.
  • 250 storage spots (50 of which are covered).
  • Renovation and expansion of employee housing facilities
  • The new Ski Cove private beach area will feature 20 rental cabanas.
  • Modifications to lower campgrounds, including converting some sites to “eco-tent” sites and adaptive campsites.
  • RV parks, ski cove cabanas and lower campgrounds will be adding tricycle transportation and food and beverage delivery services.
  • An ADA-compliant fishing pier and an ADA-compliant Mobimat will be added to the fishing pier to provide pedestrian access to the fishing pier.
  • Portable toilets and trash cans will be installed on North Beach.

The resort also plans to make changes to its trailer village. “By 2043, LMMA will transition the trailer village from long-term accommodation to short-term accommodation. New water pipes with meters will be installed and shower and laundry facilities in the area will be renovated. In addition, the Dark Sky Project will Compliant energy-efficient lighting will be installed and water-saving fixtures will be added.”
