Recount will be needed to decide Arizona AG race

PHOENIX — Democrat Chris Mays edged Abe Hamade in the race for attorney general on Friday.

About 2.59 million votes were tallied as of Friday night, and Mays currently has 1,252,882 votes. That’s 570 more him than the Republican candidate.

State officials estimate there are only about 6,100 votes left to count. Nearly all of them are in Maricopa County, with only a handful in Apache County.

Whatever happens now, that race won’t be finalized until next month.

There is no way to get more than 12,500 votes, the 0.5% margin needed to avoid a forced recount. And that recount cannot take place until the ballot officially takes place on December 5th.

All other statewide races and voting measures have already been determined.

The public school presidential campaign remains officially within that 0.5% margin. But incumbent Democrat Kathy Hoffman granted a recount on Thursday, saying there was no way to make up the current 8,901 vote deficit to Republican Tom Horn.

Meanwhile, the video shows defeated Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake appearing on stage at Mar-a-Largo, kissing former President Trump on the cheek, and speaking to a group, calling the election in Arizona a “clown.” You can see him calling it “a circus that he manages.” ”

Lake reiterated that the tabulator issue in Maricopa County is gathering evidence to show that people were disenfranchised because of long lines. But she has yet to prove whether the problem was intentional or if someone was prevented from voting.

In the latest tally, Lake trails Democrat Katie Hobbs by 17,150 points, well beyond the margin of an automatic recount.

She also vowed, “I will do anything in my power to bring this man back to the White House.”
