Senior Spotlight: Leilahni Mackay | Williams-Grand Canyon News

Leilani McKay is a senior at Williams High School (WHS). She has lived in Williams for about eight years.

Leilani is a member of the National Honors Society (NHS) and Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

“When I applied (to NHS) my freshman year, I loved it. I loved the president and everyone involved,” Leilani said. “And I really like FCCLA. I like cooking and being involved in hotel restaurant management.”

Ms. Leilani added that her biggest supporters and influences during her time at the school included Philip Echeverria, Jeff Brownlee and Mrs. Moreno.

While attending WHS, she participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, and cheer. She decided to focus on softball for the remainder of her senior year.

“It’s something I’ve always been good at,” Leilani said. “It's a sport I've always wanted to play.”

In her spare time, Leilani works at the Sheridan House Inn. She has worked there since she was 13 years old and says it is a very fun and positive environment.

After graduation, he plans to attend Yavapai University and eventually work in the medical field. With her more experience, she will decide on what specific career title to pursue.
