As Karlen struggles with the elements and local bandits, she is joined by a couple who have escaped from the clutches of the greedy De Schinkel. As this group of misfits begins to establish a small community in this squalid location, De Schinkel vows revenge, and the conflict between him and Karlen promises to be just as violent and intense as the pair. .
