You can read it here every Monday the tide goes outSo, we're going to cover another topic about the Crimson Tide, giving you an overview of the previous game, a preview of the next game, and everything in between.
In this week's edition, after things seemed lost in a blowout loss to Tennessee in Knoxville, Alabama fought back with back-to-back wins at home and now sits atop the SEC at 6-1.
All season long, the Crimson Tide lacked something on the court. The team struggled to repeat the success brought by last year's historic 31-win team.
What was a staple of last year's team was what this year's team replicated: beating some of the elite teams on the non-conference schedule. The 2022-23 team beat Michigan State, UNC and Houston, but this year's team lost all three of its brutal games to Purdue, Creighton and Arizona.

Another tenet from last season, in fact Nate Oats' entire system, was defense, but Oats says it wasn't enough. Last year's team was 3rd in the nation in adjusted defense, but this year's team is currently 66th.
The offense will get even better, with a chance to score over 100 points in six games, a program record. In fact, he currently ranks No. 1 in the nation in adjusted offensive rating, after finishing 20th in that category last season.
However, they were still lacking on defense, allowing 88 points against LSU in a 21-point win on Saturday.
Despite the issues the team still has, the magnitude of this week for Alabama cannot be underestimated. After a win over top-10 ranked Auburn followed by a win over LSU, the Tide's focus shifts to a road showdown with a Georgia team that has been a pleasant surprise in the conference this season.

Alabama is now 6-1 and in position to defend its conference title.
But in a game like the one in Athens, a win is essential to achieve that, and it starts with the defenders.
