Americans have long considered election fraud to be an uncivilized form of corruption. We look at a foreign dictator who “got” his 98% of the vote and think with contempt. What a backwards system. Why do people become such suckers? America's system of checks and balances is too strong, the rule of law is too entrenched, and moreover, the American people are fundamentally honest and good. But 2020 forced millions of people to reconsider their faith in the system. Somehow, a man who campaigned for president “Weekend at Bernie” received more votes than anyone in American history. How can this be done? Americans felt that coronavirus panic, race riots, rampant censorship, and last-minute election changes were all connected to it. Still, the idea of ​​a “rigged” election felt unprecedented. It happened because the Democrats finally succeeded in crushing the Constitution and drawing us into banana republic territory.

Even the Republican Party helped reinforce this message. In the aftermath of the 2020 election, conservatives are devoting time and energy to solving abstract concepts like “election integrity,” and trying to convince us that we're living in a time when elections were “safe,” meaning Democrats are going to hell with us. It reminded me of the days before roller coaster rides. They were more focused on ensuring that the process was theoretically governed by principles than actually stopping the bad guys.

But one of the biggest revelations in “Rigged” proves this isn't true. Our elections weren't really as safe and secure as we imagined. It's just a comforting myth we tell ourselves. And it takes more than empty platitudes to steer the ship in the right direction. Democrats may have given us the most egregious example in 2020, but they still built on more than a century of tradition.

The Daily Caller set the record straight. We meticulously dig into the history of election fraud, going back to the original absentee voting during the Civil War, when New York's governor engineered the first-ever vote-by-mail system. We examine the backgrounds of former presidents Jimmy Carter and Lyndon B. Johnson, both of whom had personal experiences with election fraud. And he showed how the same scheme is happening today, with what he calls more than 1,400 “proven incidents” of voter fraud. This is only a fraction of all cases, but many more are not proven in criminal trials because district attorneys are afraid to touch the cases.

What this shows is that election fraud is more common in the United States than we believe. The media wants us to believe that it's crazy to think that voter fraud could happen here – so they can brush aside anyone who says otherwise as lunatics in tinfoil hats and call them out on their own. can continue to plausibly deny the plan. But denying this reality gives them the upper hand. Knowing how voter fraud occurs and has always been done will help Americans prepare to combat voter fraud in the future.
