Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution Thursday accusing Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar of “admitting to working as a foreign agent.”
The Daily Caller obtained a copy of the resolution after Omar told Congress that his main task was to protect Somalia's national interests. Omar has faced criticism from Republicans in Congress after a Jan. 27 speech to Somali leaders in Minnesota went viral.
Omar gave the speech in Somali and did not mention support for the United States, according to a translation of the speech. share Ambassador Rhoda J. According to a translation, Omar is believed to have said that he is “Somali first and Muslim second” and that he is “here to protect Somalia's interests from within the American system.”
“No one can take away Somalia's oceans while I'm in Congress. The United States will not support others who want to take it from us. “Today, I am introducing a resolution to censure Ilhan Omar for her admission to working as a foreign agent. I wish I had the votes to deport him,” Greene said on Twitter.
